Domaine Pélaquié has been producing outstanding, full-bodied white wines for generations.

Domaine Pélaquié has been handed down from generation to generation since the 16th century. Today, the estate covers 95 hectares, a major part of it surrounding the family home at Saint-Victor-la-Coste. Luc Pélaquié and his brother Emmanuel took the Domaine over from their grandfather in 1976. The vineyards continue to be farmed sustainably, with permanent cover-cropping and closely controlled yields to give improved quality. Alongside his Côtes du Rhône Villages Laudun, Luc devotes his attention to his 2 Grand Crus, Tavel and Lirac, and to his Côtes du Rhône wines. He offers wine-lovers beautifully crafted, full-bodied, rounded white wines. His rule is to ‘pick ripe’ – he has the extraordinary level of patience needed to wait until October to pick his grapes – late harvests give white wines an intensely fresh fragrance and good length. His classic Laudun white with its scents of citrus and white-fleshed fruit is snapped up every year, particularly by (good) restaurants. In 2010, he added a new range to his selection, simply called ‘Luc Pélaquié’ – skilfully aged wines from selected plots, vinified in 500L barrels.

The Domaine grows all the classic Rhône varietals including Mourvèdre, an iconic Mediterranean varietal and one of Luc’s top choices, which achieves a subtle level of expression here at the Domaine. Luc is passionate about his work; every year, he creates a new selection of delicate, daringly different blends.

Throughout the year, Domaine Pélaquié hosts exhibitions by local artists and takes part in a variety of different events.
